Supporting women is something that comes natural to me. When it came down to reviewing Chanla Chau Cosmetics a plant based natural skincare line it was a no brainer. Chanla is what I’d called a naturalist. Holding the title “ Esthetician”, is a big deal. You are entrusted to care for the skin of your clients and provide results. As times have developed we’ve learned what we once thought was safe for our skin can actually be harmful. Using plant based products can reduce irritation and harmful affects later. A common misconception is not receiving the benefits and results of chemical product lines. Chanla is changing that perspective.

Can I start by saying I looooovvve the reusable bamboo cotton rounds. They are so soft and get the job done. These are machine washable. The idea of me not contributing more waste is awesome too.

Beauty should be good for you .
Northern California has suffered a loss in the town of Paradise. “Campfire” has taken the lives of many and cast thousands from their homes. These are the times where people comes together. Unity in the community.
Rain assisted the brave firefighters and Campfire is now contained. However, with Containment comes questions.
How do the elements affect my skin? This may seem minor in the grand scheme of things but it’s an actual concern. People work hard to preserve themselves . This fire has left its mark in more ways then one. What I offer is knowledge on the matter. People have been affected from hundreds of miles away, dark clouds, smoke filled air, and while the rain has helped it to can be damaging.
FIRE- In wildfires particulate matter is released. Particulate matter (PM), also known as particle pollution, is defined by the EPA (United States Environmental Protection Agency) as the term for a mixture of solid particles and liquid droplets found in the air.It is reported that particulate matter is able to penetrate into the deeper layers of your skin.
What does this mean? PM can cause wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, irritation to inflamed skin such as acne or topical skin conditions (various forms of dermatitis.) When dealing with sensitivities adding products filled with chemicals and harmful paraben’s are the last thing you should reach for.
Clear indications of smoke damage can be Collagen! What is collagen? Collagen keeps your skin firm. When collagen is damaged that’s when we see those deep wrinkles appear.
What can help? Microdermabrasion, microneedling, Some of these items can be purchased for individual use but I highly recommend seeing an Esthetician .
You may also notice drying of the skin. No matter how much you hydrate, or replenish you still feel desert dry.

Waking up with a pimple isn’t the end of the world. Although, it may seem like it . Is it just me or on your biggest days these bacteria filled guys appear.
What causes pimples to arise? How can spot treatments be effective in their removal. Are you using the correct ingredients to combat your beastly breakouts
Pimples come about by way of clogged pores, oil, dead skin and bacteria.
Sebaceous glands- Also know as oil glands, that produce sebum (oil).Sebum sticks to the skin, it’s pore clogging and often makes it difficult to shed.
Lets shine the light on Glossier .
Products being reviewed are as followed; Zit Stick and Exfoliating Skin Perfector.
The zit stick contains 5% benzoyl peroxide. Benzoyl peroxide kills the germs that cause acne. Please keep in mind continual usage of this ingredient can cause peeling and dryness. The zit stick can be used on those pesky pop ups or you can apply everyday to an area in need of reducing acne. It doesn’t have to be limited to a spot treatment.
The Exfoliating Skin Perfector contains Salicylic Acid, Aloe, Niacinamide. Unlike benzoyl peroxide,Salicylic acid doesnt kill the acne bacteria . However, it does unclog the pores that contribute to breakouts.
Niacinaminde, also known as vitamin B3 is water soluble, helps reduce visibility of enlarged pores and improves skin tone. These are all great things. When dealing with acne, scarring can occur in some and the severity for others can be alarming.
My treatment room is a safe haven for my clients. I can recommend products that I carry but I can also educate them on items I don’t.
Overall these items for me are a win. The Zit Stick is sleek and discrete. It’s not overwhelming in smell and it’s powerful as hell! The exfoliator is awesome !
Let me first say I love the packaging ! It’s a liquid exfoliator. It’s pump design makes it easy to obtain the correct amount of solution for your cotton round, making the application simple and effective.
These products are universal and safe for all Fitzpatrick types.
Fighting acne just got easier!
