The Clement Hotel - Palo Alto

When you hear the words Palo Alto what comes to mind? Stanford University? Yes. Luxury all- inclusive resort? Probably not.

I’m here to enlighten your travel senses with this hidden gem.

The Clement Hotel is the only all inclusive hotel in the West Coast that offers 23 luxury suites. Mr. Clement Chen had a well thought out visions to bring luxury and exclusivity to the Silicon Valley. Mr. Chen isn’t new to the hotel and hospitality business. Pacific Hotel Management, LLC currently manages the following properties, all of which are in California:

  • InterContinental The Clement Monterey (208 rooms)

  • The Westin Palo Alto (184 rooms)

  • Sheraton Palo Alto (346 rooms)

  • Four Points by Sheraton, Emeryville (153 rooms)

  • Courtyard by Marriott, Richmond (149 rooms)

  • Residence Inn by Marriott, Milpitas (120 suites)

  • Homewood Suites by Hilton, Newark (192 suites)

  • The Clement Hotel Palo Alto (23 suites)

The Clement is an aesthetically pleasing urban all-inclusive retreat that includes 5 star meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner). The open kitchen concept was something I’d never seen before. You’re able to watch your chef prepare your meals but you also have access to the guest pantry( refrigerator) that holds beverages, desserts, meat and cheese plates etc, you have access to this 24/7 (self serve) .

After getting over the initial fear of walking into the kitchen where staff may be working and  feeling intrusive I quickly acclimated to the open kitchen policy. Chef Gustavo made that transition an easy one. Your dining experience will be one you won’t forget .

My husband and I indulged in lamb, scallops, lobster, steak, salmon, sea bass and my favorite the POKE NACHOS (emphasis on this dish) Fresh tuna, jalapeño, sesame oil, avocado, seaweed, fried wontons, cilantro. I mean come on, it’s a gourmet appetizer at its finest. If you want to keep it light the heirloom tomatoes with goat cheese and pecans are also wonderful (honestly you can’t go wrong). Your dining experience doesn’t stop in kitchen you have the option of dining in your room or enjoying your meal on the roof top by the pool in a covered cabana.

No Stone was left unturned when it comes to luxury at the Clement. Sipping wine by the pool that I ordered from the rooftop phone desk awaiting Harold my personal concierge to deliver with a smile and great conversation (he was awesome).

Before heading back to my room I enjoyed the sunset by the fire. Tranquility, peace and gratitude for what was accomplished by the staff here at the Clement.

Welcome to your room:

I felt at home. Upon entry the living room is right in front of you (couch, tv) the restroom is on the right hand side, the first thing I saw was the tv in the mirror in the restroom insert bulged eyes (my husband said I can watch Sports Center while I shower!) this in turn helped me because he wasn’t  rushing my beauty process. Anyhow the gorgeous bathtub was the next thing that caught my eye it’s elegant and sized to fit a Queen (at this point that’s who I am) the heated floors are just another well thought out idea by Mr. Clement.

Let’s talk about the mattress that felt like clouds. Sleeping beauty, more catatonic Katie. I slept like a log . Removing myself from the custom bedding that’s only exclusive to the hotel was task. Overall I felt rested, enthused and enthralled by this lovely hotel. It’s the perfect place for everyone, couples, friends , families and business stays. In fact their longest guest was 6 months according to Vimal Sebastian Operations Manager who gave us a wonderful tour of the art filled walled hotel.
